Newborn Sessions | Professional Photographer Surrey
Newborn baby photography is a genuinely beautiful field to have as a job. As a mother, I recall the moment I held my daughter in my arms as the photographer helped us capture those fantastic first weeks. Memories are amazing but having the images right there is just magical.
Working with newborn and babies is a total privilege. It’s something I cannot imagine ever tiring of. I have my dream job, combining the wonder of new life with my passion. New parents have the ideal window for their newborn shoot in the first 14-16 days of life. During this time your bundle of joy is still gently curled from their time in the womb and really loves to nap. This is the perfect time frame to capture those iconic portraits.
Newborn Sessions are held in the warm and cosy Marinela Malherbe Photography Studio in West Byfleet. I will supply everything that is required for the session. All you have to do is to come to the studio and relax. Your little one is in the safest hands while you are watching the session unfold.
The best time to book your session is just after your 12 week or 20 week scan. However, bookings are accepted at any point. Last minute bookings can be taken if your baby has already arrived and my calendar allows. Once booked, your due month is marked in my calendar. This will only give me an idea about when little one is due. Once you have your baby, you or someone can contact me with the happy news. Then together we can decide on a final date for the newborn session.
Our newborn shoots take about 3-4 hours. I take great care to ensure that the temperature, noise and light are all at an optimal level. This way we keep your baby comfortable and relaxed and we can stage the best shots for you to treasure. For your peace of mind, you can be assured that the studio is kept scrupulously clean. All the blankets and throws are laundered freshly before you arrive.
I am always delighted to photograph older siblings too. I do ask that you bring an extra pair of hands in this case. I want to ensure that your newborn is the focus, but that we also get some fantastic shots of parents and baby. A grandparent or friend would be ideal for helping keep your other children amused.
